Citizens Advisory Committee

To ensure that local residents have input into solid waste issues, the legislation that created Indiana’s solid waste management districts requires that each district maintain a Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC).

The CAC must include representatives of the solid waste management industry, the environmental community and other concerned citizens knowledgeable about and interested in environmental issues and not employed by the solid waste management industry.

The Hendricks County Solid Waste Management District is fortunate to have an active and knowledgeable CAC. The CAC is currently made up of eleven individuals that meet regularly. In addition to providing valuable feedback regarding the District’s annual budget, the Committee also reviews grant requests the District receives and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding the funding of those grants.

Currently, the District’s Citizens Advisory Committee is made up of the following members:

Hursel Disney, Interested Citizen
Calvin Davidson, Ray’s Trash Service
Dan Devlin, PNC Bank
Brad Eisenhart, Waste Management
Gary Eakin, Town of Danville
Cathy Grindstaff, Interested Citizen

Julie Haan, Hendricks County Health Department
William D. Guarnery, Interested Citizen
