In addition, the District works to ensure that problem wastes are disposed of properly.

The District is managed by a nine-member Board of Directors, a Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC), three full-time employees and four part-time employees.

Free in-school educational programs are offered by the District for public and private school students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. The District also provides adult outreach that focuses on educating residents about the opportunities for waste reduction, reuse, recycling, and proper disposal in the community.

The District operates Yard Waste Recycling Centers and Recycling Drop-off Centers in the county and encourages Hendricks County residents to use the facilities. In addition, the District sponsors five Tox-Away Days each year. These events provide an opportunity for residents to properly dispose of their Household Hazardous Wastes and problem wastes.

District staff members are eager to help answer questions regarding waste reduction, reuse, recycling, or disposal.
